Why You Deserve A Summer Break As an Online Coach or Consultant!

,

Summer Breaks Are Necessary

I understand that as an online coach or consultant, you’re committed to reaching your goals, growing your client base, and giving your business your all. But here’s the thing – it’s time to hit the pause button and take a well-deserved BREAK as summer approaches!

It’s common to see other coaches and consultants working tirelessly around the clock, giving advice to aspiring business owners, and making it seem like rest is unnecessary. Sure, your business is important, but taking care of yourself and prioritizing your well-being is equally vital to running a successful venture.

I’ve been in your shoes as an online business owner, and trust me, I’ve learned the hard way about the importance of stepping back and just taking a breath. Around this time last year, I was running myself ragged, pushing my business non-stop, and taking on more than I could handle. Then, one day, it hit me like a ton of bricks – I needed to check out and take a break.

Take A Much Needed Break

I took nearly two months away from my business before relaunching, and let me tell you, it made all the difference. Here are a few things I did for myself during my much-needed break:

  1. Sleep – I realized that my lack of sleep was affecting my mental clarity, focus, and even my performance in my online business. So, I committed to going to bed at a decent time, prepped meals in advance to save time, and turned off notifications on my phone by 10 PM. I didn’t return calls or messages until the next morning after I completed my morning routine and rituals.
  2. Exercise – I discovered the incredible benefits of exercise during my break. Even starting with a simple morning walk can boost your energy levels and help you feel rejuvenated. If you’re financially able, consider a monthly subscription to a fitness app or hiring a personal trainer. It’s amazing how exercise can give you the energy you crave!
  3. Rebrand – While on my break, I took the opportunity to reevaluate my goals and make changes in my business. I reimagined my color scheme, adjusted pricing and services, redesigned my logo, and revamped my website. It was a chance to refresh and align my business with my vision.
  4. Absolutely Nothing! – Yes, you read it right. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is absolutely nothing. Take a moment to reflect, sit still, and just be. Embrace the stillness and allow yourself to recharge. If you had difficulty doing absolutely nothing, I encourage you to download a meditation app to help you learn how to sit still with yourself.

Next Step

There’s nothing wrong with striving for more in your business, but remember, you need to rest in order to achieve greater things. So, take the time to focus on yourself. Give yourself permission to take a break, recharge, and return to your business with renewed energy and clarity.

Instead of working 5 days a week maybe you can work 4 days a week during the summer months. Spend more time on hobbies, taking mini road trips with loved ones, and not doing anything at all. You deserve it!
